The team shot the movie last weekend, with Ninn working as art director and Braun producing, directing and shooting in high-definition. Ninn also will edit the movie, which Braun said has all the elements that fans of Michael Ninn are accustomed to in terms of quality and look but with harder sex scenes.
Braun and Ninn will shoot four volumes of "Wet Room" for Ninn Worx this year and work together on several other projects, possibly including a feature, according to Braun, who added that nothing is set in stone just yet.
"Michael is incredibly creative, and he is a true artist," Braun said. "I'm just happy to have the opportunity to work with him, and I'm game for just about anything he wants me to be part of."
The combination of Braun and Ninn seems to be a perfect fit. Ninn has long been known in the industry for the stunning visuals and cinematography in movies such as his "Neo Pornographia" series and last year's feature film "Catherine."
Braun studied under the tutelage of his father, a legend of the Italian adult industry, and also strives to create highly stylized porn such as 2003's mega-budget "Compulsion" from Elegant Angel, which won numerous awards.
Set for release May 31, "Wet Room" stars Cytherea (who also introduces every scene), Angela Stone, Jenna Presley and Missy Monroe with Ben English, Scott Nails, Marco Banderas and Jay Lassiter.
The production was lavish by gonzo standards, with costumes and the set decoration that defy gonzo stereotypes, including an immense water tank.
"The budgets are about four times what an average gonzo production costs, and there's an amazing creative support," Braun said. "Michael gave me complete freedom in expressing what I find sexually stimulating, so I'm not bound by the typical porn clichés; there's no predetermined number of positions here " just pure, hardcore, visually enticing sex."
